About this cartoon: Every year, abortion rights are under fire, potentially from a Supreme Court with a 5-4 conservative majority and from many of the nation's most conservative states, passing a barrage of restrictive and intrusive laws aimed at intimidating doctors and pregnant women. In trying to cartoon about this, I played with an old symbol: the wire coat hanger, yet was aware that many people under 40 have no idea what the symbol is about. This cartoon aims to explain this.
