About this cartoon: The extortion that Tea Party-leaning Republicans in the House of Representatives used during the government shutdown was remarkable for its blatancy and brazenness, with Representatives unconcerned about the disruption to citizens' lives or the exorbitant cost of shutting things down (upwards of $24 billion) as long as they could push their agenda. It seemed fanatical and suicidal, leading me to draw the comparison to terrorist tactics and unwillingness to be swayed from extreme beliefs.
