Title: Gaza border breach
Published: Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles
Date: Feb. 1, 2008
About this cartoon: Hamas-led forces planted explosives and blew down sections of the Gaza-Egypt border fence near Rafah, and thousands of Palestinians poured over the border to buy supplies. While Egypt allowed the Palestinians to cross and shop, citing humanitarian concerns, there was a larger issue of Hamas flexing its muscles and pushing into Egyptian territory through force, leaving Egypt in the position of either being required to use force against fellow Arabs, or allowing the dangerous radicalism of Hamas to gain a foothold in Egypt, take over Rafah and other ports and quite likely spread into the Sinai Peninsula.
