About this cartoon: A civil war between Hamas and Fatah in the Gaza Strip came to a quick end as the more radical Hamas forces took over government. The prospects for a Palestinian state have diminished as Fatah worked feverishly to consolidate power in the West Bank. Meanwhile, the prospects in Gaza look ominous, with radical Islam, weapons from Iran and hatred for Israel seemingly being the only concerns of the new Hamas government, and its people facing poverty, isolation and a harsher life than ever.
