About this cartoon: Richard Goldstone, who wrote a report for the United Nations scathingly critical of Israel following its 2008-09 attack on Gaza (which badly damaged Israel's reputation), wrote a retraction of sorts as an Op-ed column in The Washington Post. His column said if he knew then what he knows now "it would have been a different report" and he would not have accused Israel of targeting Palestinian civilians. The fact that it only ran in one newspaper and was not a folow-up report to the U.N. failed to give his new views the same weight, but did give Israel some degree of vindication.
