Title: Level playing field
Published
: Seattle Post-Intelligencer
Date: March 30, 1998
About this cartoon: Battles were raging nationally about whether it was time to scrap affirmative action, with an argument in favor claiming the "playing field" would be "more level" without it.
Noteworthy: I was trying to come up with a cartoon that addressed the topic in a way that acknowledged both sides' arguments while supporting the principle of affirmative action in a way I would be satisfied with; it took two weeks to come up with a cartoon I liked.
