Title: Compromise
Published: Editorialcartoonists.com
Date: Dec. 9, 2010
About this cartoon: In his efforts to strike a deal with the Republican Party, which wants to extend Bush-era tax cuts to everyone, including the very wealthiest of Americans, and cut estate tax rates for the rich, Obama has shown that his willingness to compromise is a two-edged sword. True, little can be accomplished politically without compromise, but many menbers of his own party feel that Obama is betraying both his campaign promises and the party's principles in trying to hard to forge deals with a Republican Party that wants to give little or no ground.
