About this cartoon: The Republican Party, supposedly the "big tent" party that welcomed a variety of views, is increasingly hostile to moderates and to anyone who doesn't toe the party line. In a number of political campaigns, organized GOP campaigns have actively worked against fellow Republican candidates seen as straying from party orthodoxy and endorsed more conservative "Tea Bagger" candidates — even if the split costs the party the election entirely.
