about this cartoon: | Title:
California political animals Published: Marin Independent Journal Date: Jan. 25, 2002 About this cartoon: The state gubanatorial race is starting to heat up, with the Democratic governor, Gray Davis, hoping for reelection and former Los Angeles mayor Richard Riordan leading the Republican list... despite Davis being seen by his party as too conservative and embracing too many GOP-type concerns, and Riordan being seen by his party as too pro-choice and willing to embrace Democrat-type concerns and office-holders. Noteworthy: A fun cartoon that is somewhat related to my "Governor's office hybrids" cartoon from two decades earlier in my California section of this site. |
