About this cartoon: Left-leaning California was firmly in the "blue states" column, and firmly on George W. Bush's out-of-favor list, evidenced by battles over coastal drilling platforms and vehicle exhaust standards, among others. With Barack Obama in the White House, California could look forward to a bigger role in Congress, and a much warmer reception from the Administration.
