about this cartoon: | Title:
The commute Published: San Francisco Examiner Date:July 2, 1999 About this cartoon: People looking for affordable housing were commuting into the Bay Area from increasingly distant places, with Tracy-- way out in the state's agricultural Central Valley-- being the newest hot spot. Noteworthy: This was drawn without reference photos, based on views as I remembered them from the Bay Bridge, Highway 24 west of the Caldecott Tunnel, and my general impression of the San Joaquin Valley and the Nevada border. |
