about this cartoon: | Title:
PG&E and Davis Published: Marin Independent Journal Date: April 11, 2001 About this cartoon: With California's power crisis worsening, Gov. Davis promised that the biggest power company, Pacific Gas & Electric, would not go bankrupt. The very next day, PG&E filed for Chapter 11 (but they did find millions to give out in executive bonuses days before), embarrassing Davis and hurting him politically. Noteworthy: The original version had the point poking right through the governor, but the editors felt it was already making its, um, point. |
