Raiders lawsuit Published: Marin Independent Journal Date: May 27, 2001 About this cartoon: Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis got sacked in court by the NFL, after trying to extract $1 billion for the league's failure to ensure his success in returning to Los Angeles, the city Davis left in 1995. An appeal is being considered. Noteworthy: The version that ran in print was less violent. Instead of the Raiders' sword through Al Davis head, crossed judges gavels were placed behind his head instead. |
