about this cartoon: | Title:
Another legislative session closes Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date:Sept. 16, 1981 About this cartoon: The end of the legislative session was a typical essay in chaos, with a rush of bills, half-baked ideas, sneaky "riders" and midnight additions, and electronic votes cast by "helpful colleagues." Noteworthy: Members of the Capitol press corps loved this, perhaps more than any other cartoon I drew. A member of the legislature took pains to tell me it must have been the Assembly chamber and not the Senate, given the presence of voting buttons on the desks. |
