About this cartoon: Santa Clara County (the heart of Silicon Valley) has some of the nation's worst traffic (and some of Calif.'s worst smog). A ballot measure to extend the BART commuter trains into San Jose was passed by voters, but it will take a decade or maybe even two until the extension is operational.
Noteworthy: A map seemed the best way to define Silicon Valley, and would be helpful to readers who weren't quite sure where it is.
