about this cartoon: | Title:
Calif. urban renewal Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: Feb. 11, 1982 About this cartoon: It was clear that a lot of older buildings in the state were not up to current seismic safety standards, and this cartoon wondered if the unofficial plan was to hope they'd simply collapse in a quake someday and allow redevelopment to occur. Noteworthy: The oversized monster figure is a cousin of oversized smog and similar creatures from this era of my cartooning. |
