about this cartoon: | Title:
Emissions Accomplished Published: Ventura County Star Date: Feb. 17, 2004 About this cartoon: The Star ran a front-page story about the Bush Administration trying to block a Clinton Administration ban on the gasoline additive MTBE, which improved air quality but ruined the water supplies. In the article it was noted that the main producers of MTBE were major contributors to the GOP. What a surprise. Noteworthy: The basic pun of "Emissions Accomplished" was offered up by Greg Wright, a student of a Learning Annex class I taught on cartooning months earlier, and he generously encouraged me to use it if I could as a basis for a cartoon at some point. I found that Gulf War 2 terminology worked repeatedly in this case, and built the cartoon accordingly. |
