About this cartoon: Gasoline prices shot well past $3 per gallon as consumers shrieked and looked for answers or at least scapegoats. There were plenty to be had, including but not limited to auto makers and auto dealers pushing SUVs and other guzzlers, big oil companies racking in obscene profits, an administration that speaks about easing oil dependency but does little to promote it or to protect the environment in any efforts, and of course, the consumers themselves who won't change their habits.
