About this cartoon: This was an Earth Day cartoon that noted the opposition of the new pope, Benedict XVI, to all forms of artificial contraception while making a general point about global overpopulation concerns.
Noteworthy: Some of my angry mail was about stepping on Catholic sensitivities, but more were disputing the whole concept of global overpopulation; I believe the projections and scientific warnings are valid about the looming crisis, even if we're not in a severe crisis at this moment. Oh, and I used various computer tricks to duplicate as many of the people in the cartoon as possible; that was the only way to depict so many individuals here without going insane.
