about this cartoon: | Title:
Consolidation of voices Published: Editor & Publisher Date: June 28, 1997 About this cartoon: The consolidation of media holdings by corporations, the sale of independent papers and the demise of second papers in most markets mean fewer editorial voices and a tendency toward blandness and similarity. Noteworthy: All the newspapers I have worked for have been parts of chains. Sometimes it's a plus, giving a paper more resources, but sometimes content decisions are dictated from on high and far away. |
