about this cartoon: | Title:
Larry Flynt Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: Feb. 2, 1984 About this cartoon: Journalists found themselves uncomfortably aligned with Larry Flynt, publisher of the raunchy skin magazine, Hustler, in a free-speech lawsuit against tele-evangelist Jerry Falwell; the final ruling favored free speech. Noteworthy: I wasn't sure how much to tone down Flynt in this cartoon, and it may have pushed the envelope a tad for the conservative Daily News. |
