More about this cartoon:

Title: John Lennons
Published
: Daily News of Los Angeles
Date: Dec. 10, 1980
About this cartoon: There was nothing bigger in pop/rock music than the Beatles, and it's unofficial leader was John. While his solo career had its ups and downs, his impact on music, his times and on a whole generation was huge. A deranged fan shot him to death in New York just as he was finding new peace and musical energy in his life.
Noteworthy: This is a weak cartoon, and included here mostly for historic purposes. It doesn't really express his impact to my satisfaction, and I didn't know at the time that "Lennon-McCartney" compositions were usually mostly the work of one or the other, despite the joint name... and the song I picked here was mostly a Paul McCartney song.
