about this cartoon: | Title:
Chapter One Published: Marin Independent Journal Date: Oct. 11, 2001 About this cartoon: President Bush and Congress declared a war on terrorism asking (and generally getting) national support, and began bombing Afghanistan for its harboring of terrorists. But this was is against an unseen, spread-out enemy willing to use any means, including suicide, to achieve its goals. This is less of a war than it is a new way of life, one possibly with no end. Noteworthy: This is a sort of classic style for me, in its use of visual symbolism, lack of words, and a tighter drawing style, hearkening back somewhat to my Daily News of L.A. days. |
