About this cartoon: Some people say that terrorists deserve no right at all, and the detainees at Guantanamo are terrorists sworn to hate America. But since the prisoners were very hurriedly rounded up in the post- 9/11 sweep, there's a very real possibility at least a few people are there by mistake -- including U.S. citizens -- and have been sitting there for years with no recourse, and nobody is pushing their cases along.No doubt there are some dangerous terrorists locked up, but we still seem to be in no hurry to enforce our own laws of due process. Everyday murderers in the U.S. are still given Constitutional protection...even enemies of the U.S. in a conventional war still get treatment under the Geneva Convention.
