about this cartoon: | Title:
Jimmy Kissinger Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: Aug. 20, 1978 About this cartoon: Jimmy Carter was determined to advance the cause of Mideast peace by persuading, with much effort, Israel's Menachem Begin and Egypt's Anwar Sadat to come to Camp David to discuss peace proposals, resulting in success seven months later. Carter was very much hands-on in the process, not unlike Nixon's chief man in international affairs, Henry Kissinger. Noteworthy: The artwork on this early cartoon is terrible, but it's included here for historic purposes. |
