about this cartoon: | Title:
Betsy Ross Gingrich Published: Seattle Post-Intelligencer Date: Feb. 27, 1995 About this cartoon: Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich rose to power with his successful "Contract with America" campaign as the GOP swept to power. As the details of his plan shaped up, the poor were among those who felt they had a "contract" -- more like a "hit-man" contract on them, that is. Noteworthy: Perhaps the best of several "Contract with America" cartoons I did, drawn by hand, without benefit of computer. |
