about this cartoon: | Title:
A sense of class Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: Jan. 21, 1982 About this cartoon: President Reagan was lauded for bringing a sense of "class" back to the White House, meaning as much as anything being into the formalities of the office, in contrast to his predecessor Jimmy Carter's informality. But under Reagan, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer as national divisions deepened. Noteworthy: The type of cartoon that probably did not endear me to the editors of the Daily News, a place of Reagan stalwarts. |
