about this cartoon: | Title:
Sic 'em Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: June 5, 1983 About this cartoon: Ronald Reagan had this warm, folksy likeability that softened and masked his often-harsh policies in many areas, including here in Social Security disability payments, education and entitlement programs. Noteworthy: When Pulitzer-Prize winning cartoonist Paul Conrad saw this cartoon, he declared, "Now THAT says something!" It's a cartoon that I'm slightly surprised ever made it into print, as it really nailed a president much liked by the newspaper I worked for. |
