about this cartoon: | Title:
Surrogate Mothers Day Published: Seattle Post-Intelligencer Date: Sept. 12, 1986 About this cartoon: The practice of surrogate motherhood-- carrying a baby for someone else-- hit the courts when a "hired womb" decided she'd grown attached to the baby she was carrying and wanted to keep it, in violation of the contract she'd signed. Noteworthy: It would've been better to be published in May than September, I suppose, but that's when the news occured. |
