about this cartoon: | Title:
Untreated wood roofs Published: Daily News of Los Angeles Date: April 23, 1982 About this cartoon: Every year, fires would strike Southern California in places like Malibu and Benedict Canyon, and the roofs would go up like kindling. More fire-resistant treated wood is available, but rarely used because "it costs more." Noteworthy: To my knowledge, nothing's changed on this issue... and houses still burn down, perhaps needlessly. |
