About this cartoon: The era of "downsizing" was in full swing. And also in the news, retailers were complaining that Christmas sales were way off, that buyers just weren't out there spending enough money. Hmmm, could there be any connection?
Noteworthy: A bit of unusual composition here tying in panels 1 and 4, plus an effort at wordplay to ties all the "lines" together.
