About this cartoon: Grief and litigation unfortunately seem to go together a lot in our society; cities, counties and agencies get hit by lawsuits on things often entirely out of their control, such as acts of nature, and police departments are often sued for wrongful death no matter how clearly culpable a criminal might have been The familiar list of five stages of grief seems to have envolved into six stages.
