about this cartoon: | Title:
Hate crimes Published: San Francisco Examiner Date: Aug. 24, 1999 About this cartoon: Several hate-crime stories had been in the news, including synagogue arsons, the beating death of a gay student, shootings at a Jewish community center and more... so often, that hate crimes needed to be acknowledged as being, sadly, part of the national makeup as they indeed had been throughout U.S. history. Noteworthy: Even though the printed version lacked color, I think it was clear that whatever dark substance was oozing from the scoop, it was still grotesquely disgusting and threatening. |
