About this cartoon: The Republican's massive tax cut plan was pretty nakedly a permanent give-away to the wealthiest citizens and corporations in America (that is, the Republican's donors), adding a trillion dollars to the deficit and making income inequality even more abysmally skewed. But in a calculated move, some short-term cuts to the middle class and the encouraging of corporations to give one-time "bonuses" of $1,000 or so was pushed to soften opposition. The legislation also stuck it to "blue states" such as California, New York and New Jersey, taking away tax benefits from those citizens and putting those states at a disadvantage, no doubt a Trump-inspired move to spite his perceived enemies.
