First Stage Theatre in Los Angeles invited a group of creative people to turn playwright for a weekend as they produced GORED & BUSHWHACKED, a collection of five minute political pieces at their theater in Hollywood on Friday Oct. 29 and Sat. Oct 30th, 2004, just prior to the election
I hadn't written a play since creative writing classes back in school, but accepted the challenge and had a blast. Because the show was put together quickly, it was an evening of staged readings (the actors were permitted to have the scripts in hand).
My piece, entitled "Double Dribble," was well-received, drew the intended laughs, and everyone involved seemed to have a good time with it.
