About this cartoon: After 15+ years of occupation in southern Lebanon, Israel forces tried to withdraw while leaving the allied South Lebanon Army to maintain order. The withdrawal turned into a quick chaotic pullout followed by a quick takeover by Hezbollah forces over the ineffectual SLA, becoming a humiliation for Israel.
Noteworthy: My first published editorial cartoons were in 1974, so the Vietnam parallel came to me quickly for this cartoon.
