about this cartoon: | Title:
Chain-reaction device Published: Ventura County Star Date: Sept. 6, 2002 About this cartoon: The Bush Administration has been steadily calling for a preemptive military strike on Iraq to depose Saddam Hussein. While he is indeed an extremely dangerous person, this planned campaign is risky and is not being supported by most of our allies. Based on what happened during Bush Senior's Gulf War, when Husssein lobbed missiles at Israel, a non-combatant nation, it is quite possible he'll attack there again, and may use his biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction. Facing such a horror, might not Israel be tempted to retaliate with its nuclear weapons? Noteworthy: This is one of those cartoons that are simple to draw, but exacting and tricky to lay out. Colorized for the Internet. |
