about this cartoon: | Title:
Mideast Road Map Published: Ventura County Star Date: May 6, 2003 About this cartoon: The Bush Administration began turning its attention (finally) to the Mideast conflict, and suggested a "road map" to peace, a sketchy plan of action involving actions and compromises by each side. Israel was clearly unenthused, whereas the new Palestinian Prime Minister shoved in as Bush sought to exclude Yasser Arafat couldn't wait for his new state. Noteworthy: I think the part of Ariel Sharon putting the map away is pretty apt. The part with Arafat driving is less apt, but I needed him in there to carry Abbas' whining. |
