About this cartoon: For many years there have been rallies and calls for the creation of a Palestinian state —a legitimate concern — with the implied message that things will calm down and anger toward the Israelis will ease once this becomes a reality. But as this cartoon suggests (and as rhetoric is just beginning to be heard in the U.S. Secretary of State's office), there's a new protest waiting in the wings. Look for screams about "a nation divided" as soon as Gaza and the West Bank become the components of a new Palestinian state.
