About this cartoon: The horrific shooting rampage in Las Vegas -- the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history -- gave the lie to the NRA's claim that an armed populace would prevent such shootings ("The way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun"). Innocent concert-goers hundreds of yards away had no chance to defend against a heavily armed sniper shooting away from the 32nd floor of a hotel across the street. But the NRA will find a way to brush off this rampage, just as it does the mass shootings that happen practically every day in America.
